C Lombok, NTB (ANTARA) - The government of Central Lombok district, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has informed that the implementation of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia in March 2022 contributed more than Rp12 billion to the region’s income.

"It is the amount of our Regional Original Revenue (PAD) obtained from the entertainment tax of the 2022 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia," head of the Central Lombok Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), Jalaludin, said here on Monday.

The organizer of the international sporting event reported that the amount of tax gained from ticket sales reached more than Rp11 billion (US$762.7 thousand), while the culinary sector contributed Rp540 million (US$37.4 thousand) to the tax.

Furthermore, the advertisement tax reached Rp174 million (US$12 thousand), and the parking service tax was more than Rp23 million (US$1.5 thousand).

"Thus, the total tax received from the implementation of the 2022 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia was Rp12.445 billion (US$862 thousand)," the Bapenda head informed.

However, the revenue fell short of the estimated target, which was Rp15 billion (US$1.04 million), due to a decline in the entertainment tax from 30 percent to 15 percent, he said.

In addition, the number of spectators was reduced from 100 thousand people to 60 thousand people.

"We will evaluate the event, hence, our revenues can be optimized at the future one," Jalaludin said.

During the first quarter of 2022, Bapenda received Rp2.9 billion (US$201 thousand) in hotel tax out of the target of Rp20 billion (US$1.38 million) and Rp2.49 billion (US$172.6 thousand) in restaurant tax or 15 percent of the target of Rp16 billion (US$1.1 million).

"Meanwhile, the total target of Central Lombok district’s PAD in 2022 is Rp315 billion (US$21.8 million)," the Bapenda head informed.

The PAD from entertainment tax on ticket sales for the World Superbike event in November 2021 was Rp2.6 billion (US$180.3 thousand), while the target was Rp10 billion (US$693.4 thousand).
