With this, Indonesian representatives in the workers' destination nations or authorities can serve all administrative affairs related to workers' placementJakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Manpower Ministry issued a new regulation concerning migrant workers during the new habit adaptation period that allows them to be placed in 65 nations after restriction was imposed due to the pandemic in 2020.
In a statement on Tuesday, Workforce Placement and Work Opportunity Expansion Director General Suhartono stated that the regulation in question was Workforce Placement and Work Opportunity Expansion Director General Decree No. 3/111/PK.02.01/IV/2022.
This decision was made after the ministry received inputs from Indonesia's representatives in placement nations and several related parties, wherein it can ensure the safety and protection of Indonesian migrant workers, he explained.

Within the regulation, there are 65 nations that Indonesian workforce can head to through a variety of placement schemes.
Suhartono urged representatives in these nations to immediately coordinate with local authorities to ensure the availability of work market information.
"With this, Indonesian representatives in the workers' destination nations or authorities can serve all administrative affairs related to workers' placement," he remarked.
The decree also stipulates that placement can be done through the Private to Private (P to P) scheme by the Indonesian Migrant Workers' Placement Company (P3MI) or through individual Indonesian migrant workers' scheme.
In addition, there is placement to several nations through the Government to Government (G to G) scheme.

Nations that Indonesian workers can reside in during the new habit adaptation period are Albania, South Africa, Algeria, the United States, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Denmark, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, and Guyana.
In addition, Hungary, Hong Kong, England, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Germany, New Caledonia, Canada, Kenya, Solomon Islands, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Kuwait, Lebanon, Liberia, Maldives, Malaysia, Morocco, Egypt, Namibia, Nigeria, Norway, and Panama are other options for these workers to reside in.
Moreover, the countries comprising Papua New Guinea (PNG), the United Arab Emirates, Poland, France, Qatar, Congo, China, Malta, Romania, Russia, Rwanda, Serbia, Slovakia, Singapore, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Jordan, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, can be the locations for workers to live in during the new habit adaptation period.
