President Yoon's inauguration took place at the National Assembly Plaza in Seoul on May 10, 2022.
According to a press release received here, Megawati was wearing a red kebaya dress. The former president came to the procession site from a hotel with protocols for state guests.
Megawati attended the inauguration in the company of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) treasurer Olly Dondokambey, who came along with his wife, Rita Dondokambey. Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea Gandi Sulistyanto was also present at the event.
Megawati was seated in the front row of seats along with Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan, Singaporean President Halimah Yacob, Central African President Faustin-Archange Touadéra, former Japanese PM Yukio Hatoyama, and US Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff.
Touadéra was seated on Megawati's right, while Emhoff took a seat on her left.
After entering the inauguration site, Megawati waved out at about 40 thousand South Korean citizens and officials, who followed the inauguration from the building plaza.
At around 11 p.m. local time, President Yoon's inauguration event began. The South Korean new president went around greeting guests and invitees, including Megawati.

In his speech, President Yoon conveyed his greetings to the honorary guests, including Megawati.
"I am very grateful to Her Excellency Mrs. Diah Permata Megawati Soekarnoputri, who came from abroad to celebrate this occasion, and other honorary guests for their presence," President Yoon stated.
In his speech, President Yoon spoke about various issues, ranging from his country's domestic problems and the COVID-19 pandemic to global issues, including relations with North Korea.
After the inauguration, Megawati and her group returned to the hotel. Megawati was scheduled to attend a dinner banquet held by President Yoon.
