Jakarta (ANTARA) - The 2022 G20 Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) Chairperson Mira Tayyiba urged delegations to function harmoniously in reaching joint agreements on issues related to the digital economy, as reflected in the presented ‘angklung’ performance.

The Indonesian Communication and Informatics Ministry entertained the delegations of the second 2022 G20 DEWG meeting by presenting an ‘angklung’ performance during the grand launch of the 2022 Digital Talent Scholarship (DTS) Program and the welcome dinner.

"It is one of the Indonesian traditional musical instruments. ‘Angklung’ is made of bamboo. It is played by shaking the instrument to produce a harmonious tone," the chairperson stated in her remarks at the welcome dinner in Yogyakarta, as quoted from a press release on Wednesday.

Furthermore, she invited all participants to enjoy the sense of togetherness as well as the Indonesian culinary arts during the welcome dinner.

The ‘angklung’ show presented a medley of Indonesian folk songs.

The second meeting of the 2022 G20 DEWG takes place in Yogyakarta on May 17-19, 2022.

In addition to Tayyiba, who is concurrently the ministry's secretary general, the meeting is also chaired by the 2022 G20 DEWG Alternate Chairperson Dedy Permadi, who is also the Special Staff of the Communications and Informatics Minister for Digital Policy and Human Resources.

The working group focuses on three priority issues during Indonesia’s 2022 G20 presidency: digital connectivity and post-COVID-19 recovery; digital skills and digital literacy; as well as cross-border data flow and trusted free data flow.

The 2022 G20 DEWG meeting is themed "Achieving Resilient Recovery: Working Together for a More Inclusive, Empowering, and Sustainable Digital Transformation."

A total of 15 delegates from G20 members attended the meeting in person. In addition to Indonesia, they come from the United States, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, England, India, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the European Union.

Meanwhile, the delegates from Canada, China, Mexico, South Africa, and Russia attended the meeting virtually.

In addition, two invited countries, Singapore and Cambodia, as well as representatives of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) were present at the meeting.

Meanwhile, the DTS is an annual program offered by the ministry for the past few years to increase the number of digital talents across Indonesia for free.

The launch of the 2022 DTS program was themed "A Momentous Milestone to Scoring Stellar Digital Talents."
