Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Arsjad Rasjid drew attention to five steps to encourage the acceleration of sustainable and inclusive investment.

"First, the promotion of investment in Indonesia's leading projects and sectors, especially in the downstreaming (sector) and EBT (new renewable energy)," Rasjid stated at the Road to G20: Investment Forum "Encouraging The Acceleration of Sustainable and Inclusive Investment" here on Wednesday.

According to Rasjid, the promotion of Indonesia's leading sector can be maximized during the Indonesian G20 Presidency in 2022, including in one of its business forums, B20.

The Kadin chairman noted that the second measure is dissemination of information on the Job Creation Law to convince investors that Indonesia is an investment-friendly country. He deemed that the regulations under the Job Creation Law can increase transparency, efficiency, speed, and certainty of running businesses.

The regulations under the Job Creation Law are also supported by the ease of investment licensing through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system, he remarked.

The third effort is public and private partnerships to promote green investment and provide strategic policies that facilitate knowledge sharing, Rasjid stated.

"Fourth, government support in the form of stimulus packages that promote green energy incentives," he remarked.

The fifth measure is the provision of end-to-end services to investors until the investment is carried out and assistance until the production stage, according to Rasjid.

Rasjid is optimistic and believes that these efforts will not only bolster Indonesia's economic growth but also help achieve sustainable and inclusive development through downstreaming and energy transition.

"Kadin, as a strategic partner of the government, remains committed to strengthening inclusive collaboration with the government and industry players in supporting the realization of an energy downstream ecosystem," Rasjid noted.

According to its official website, B20 is part of Indonesia’s G20 agenda forum that focuses on trade and investment, among others. The B20 Summit will be held on November 13-14, 2022, in Bali.
