Jakarta (ANTARA) - The preparations for the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) Global Conference in Bali in June 2022 are 80–85 percent complete in terms of logistics, content, and publication, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno said.

“The AVPN Global Conference, as a side event of the G20 Presidency, is expected to be able to proceed well in order to provide optimal benefits," he noted during a weekly virtual press conference on Monday.

The G20 is an international forum comprising 19 countries that work together to handle major issues. Indonesia is holding the G20 Presidency this year.

The AVPN Global Conference is the largest social investing meeting in Asia that gathers funders and resource providers from across the world to share knowledge, build strategic partnerships, and address socioeconomic challenges at scale.

Uno said he expects the collaboration with AVPN to build a network that connects all stakeholders to open philanthropic financing access to tourism and creative economy actors.

It is also expected to bolster the international world's trust to conduct MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition) activity in Indonesia.

In relation to logistics, Uno's ministry has reviewed the readiness of the venue, stakeholders, target participants, registration, participant accreditation and visa, health protocols, Event Service Standard (SLA) implementation, handling at airport, information technology facilities, and budget.

Themed “Catalysing Action Towards the Asian Decade,” AVPN 2022 will focus on four topics: climate action, health and nutrition, gender, and economic opportunity.

"Insya Allah (God willing), the President (Joko Widodo) will participate and open this event," Uno informed.

In terms of promotion, AVPN will be publicized through the official G20 website and social media handle, G20 side events, the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry, and AVPN's social media.

As of March 17, 2022, at least 500 participants from several countries have confirmed their attendance for the meeting, with more than 300 still undergoing the curation process.

The reason for the curation process is to ensure that the discussion can truly produce solutions, the minister explained.
