Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin has asked residents to not sell permanent housing built for Mount Semeru eruption victims in Lumajang, East Java, which has been completed and inhabited.

"I ask not to sell those," he said after inspecting permanent and temporary housing in Sumber Mujur village, Candipuro, Lumajang, East Java, on Thursday.

The victims of the Mount Semeru eruption have already started feeling at home with the facilities and environment in their permanent residences, so they must remain there, the Vice President said.

He also commended everyone who contributed to the construction of permanent and temporary housing for the survivors.

"I would like to thank the head of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency, Public Works and Public Housing Ministry, regional government, all who have worked together so that efforts to provide a shelter to the victims of the Semeru eruption could be conducted properly," Amin added.
