China remained the main destination for Babel's tin exports
Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung (ANTARA) - Bangka Belitung (Babel) Islands Province's tin exports rose 95.46 percent to US$378.80 million in April 2022, from US$191.78 million during the same month last year, the local office of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) stated.

"China remained the main destination for Babel's tin exports," acting chief of the BPS Office in Babel Islands Reflin Arda stated here on Friday.

Tin exports in April 2022 also represented a 33.23-percent increase as compared to US$284.33 million in March 2022, he remarked.

Meanwhile, the province's non-tin exports in April 2022 rose to US$57.60 million, from US$31.48 million a month earlier.

"During the January-April period this year, tin contributed 88.05 percent to Bangka Belittung's total exports, while non-tin exports only contributed 11.95 percent," he pointed out.

Arda pointed out that China remained the biggest market for Babel's tin exports during the January-April 2022 period, reaching 41.50 percent of the province's total tin exports over the period of time.

"As compared to the same period last year, tin exports to China in the year (ending April 30) rose 3,422.64 percent," he stated.

Apart from China, the top importers of Babel's tin comprised Singapore, South Korea, India, and Japan. Overall, tin exports to the four countries contributed 8.42-13.55 percent of the total tin exports.

"In total, Bangka Belitung Islands Province's tin exports to the top five importers contributed 78.96 percent of the total tin exports," he stated.
