Early marriage creates social problems, as the couple is not ready financially
Praya, Central Lombok (ANTARA) - The Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Ministry has constantly pushed for efforts to improve family quality in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, through regional policies in accordance with the law.

"We (educate people) at the village scope to encourage (efforts focused on) the protection of women and children in order to pursue improvement of family quality," the assistant deputy for family participation improvement at the ministry, Priyadi Santosa, stated here, Thursday.

The regional government is expected to formulate policies in order to provide protection to women and children. Stakeholders expected to participate in the efforts comprised family management institutions at the village scope.

The effort was made in accordance with President Jokowi's directives aimed at ensuring protection for women and children, he stated.

"We put in efforts, so that the rights of children are fulfilled and that the child can grow well," he affirmed.

This activity was also part of the central government's efforts, through the Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Ministry, to prevent an increase in cases of stunting and child exploitation, especially at the village scope. The policy on protecting women and children was announced and disseminated as a means to prevent early marriage, he remarked.

"Early marriage creates social problems, as the couple is not ready financially," he pointed out.

Thus, he expected that the regional government, village administration, and everyone, in general, would support the program relevant to the goal.

"Let us work together to pursue the program for the community's well-being," he affirmed.

Head of Nyerot Village, Jonggat Sub-district, Central Lombok District, Sahim, echoed his commitment to the ministry to disseminate information regarding the protection of women and children as a means to improve the community's economy.

"We, from the village government, are committed to (improving the) family (quality) through community empowerment," he affirmed.
