Garut, W Java (ANTARA) - State-run microlender PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) has organized a business capacity development (PKU) training on the importance of obtaining business permits for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Garut district, West Java.

"There were 300 participants who attended (the training). Later, they will get certificates (of participation)," head of PKU external relations division, Y.R. Wijayandaru, said at a press conference on 'Training on Risk-Based Business Licensing’ here on Monday.

PT PNM not only provides business capital loans, but also gives assistance to economic actors to develop their business and improve their welfare, for instance, by educating them about applying for a business license so that their activities can run smoothly and they can access a wider market, he informed.

"Hopefully, we can provide the assistance until their (the participant’s) business registration numbers are issued," he remarked.

Wijayandaru said that after the training, participants will get their business permits and PNM will encourage them to improve their business.

There are a lot of opportunities for MSMEs to market their products as currently, people can sell products online through various apps, he noted.

"Hence, in the next training, we will encourage the participants to improve (their business) by entering the online marketplace,” he informed.

Meanwhile, head of Garut District Office of PT PNM, Abu Hasan, informed that the participants of the training came from various business sectors, such as grocery.

Out of the 300 participants, only five are in the process of getting a business permit, and it is estimated they will be able to obtain their business registration numbers by the following week, he added.

Furthermore, he informed that the training participants are PT PNM’s customers from Garut and Sumedang districts of West Java and are a part of the Prosperous Family Economic Development (Mekaar) Program.

Head of Garut District Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Office (DPMPTSP), Wahyudijaya, lauded PT PNM's activities for providing business licensing training to customers so that their business activities can be acknowledged legally.
