I want to ensure that cooking oil will be equally distributed to all people. Do not neglect a single area without cooking oil. This effort will surely take some time
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Pandjaitan confirmed that the government will start disseminating information on the use of the PeduliLindungi application as a purchase requirement for bulk cooking oil on June 27.

Through synergy among the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Trade Ministry, and Ministry of Industry, the change in the bulk cooking oil purchasing system aims to ensure accountable and transparent purchasing from the producers to the distribution management and the consumers.

"The period to disseminate information will start on June 27 and will last for the next two weeks. After the period to raise awareness is over, the public must use the PeduliLindungi application or show their social identity number (NIK) to be able to purchase bulk cooking oil with the highest retail price (HET)," Pandjaitan noted through a statement here, Friday.

He later remarked that the purchase of bulk cooking oil at the consumer level will be limited to a maximum of 10 kg or liters for one NIK per day, at a price of Rp14 thousand per liter or Rp15,500 per kilogram.

Bulk cooking oil at this price is available at sellers and retailers, who are officially registered in the Simirah 2.0 Program and also through Logistics and Retail Service Business Owners (PUJLE), specifically "Warung Pangan" and "Gurih."

Pandjaitan highlighted that the government was striving to change this system to ensure the availability of cooking oil at affordable prices for all strata of society.

He said that the use of the PeduliLindungi application will help in monitoring and supervision to mitigate fraud in various places that could lead to scarcity and the soaring price of bulk cooking oil.

The government has also made various efforts to respond to the chaos arising due to the cooking oil prices in the past few months. Some of the steps taken were able to control the price of bulk cooking oil in several areas.

However, the minister urged related parties to continue to supervise the distribution of cooking oil.

"I want to ensure that cooking oil will be equally distributed to all people. Do not neglect a single area without cooking oil. This effort will surely take some time," he emphasized.

To ensure that the socialization and transition period runs optimally, Pandjaitan has also formed a Task Force to disseminate information to the public regarding the transition of the new system.

The team will later provide various information channels to handle questions or complaints from the public regarding the purchase of bulk cooking oil.

The public will be able to access all information related to the dissemination of information on bulk cooking oil sales and purchases through social media channels that will be readied.

Starting from June 27, the public will be able to access all information related to disseminating information on bulk cooking oil sales and purchases through the official social media channel Instagram @minyakita.id and also the linktr.ee/minyakita website.

"This is a joint effort of the relevant ministries and institutions to unravel problems related to cooking oil. In the early stages, of course, adjustments will be needed, but I believe the community will be able to quickly adapt to this new system, because the goal is for the common good," Pandjaitan concluded.
