"These priority issues comprise digital economy, health, manpower, environment, energy, and education," the Ministry's Gender Equality Deputy, Lenny N. Rosalin, noted through a press statement on Friday.
G20 is an international forum comprising 19 countries that work together to handle major issues. Indonesia is holding the presidency of the grouping this year.
This policy note will be formulated in a concise and comprehensive manner, so that it can curb the gender gap in various development sectors in future.
Moreover, it aims to more optimally handle the issue of gender equality and women's empowerment within the scope of national development.
Before formulating this policy note, the ministry will hold a dialogue with representatives from six working groups, the co-Sherpa, and several development partners to seek inputs.
This dialogue generally aims to discuss the latest developments in the discussion in all working groups, she stated.
The dialogue is also held to discuss the steps to be taken to encourage the integration of gender equality issue into the discussion in six working groups included within priority issues, she noted.
"Currently, we are formulating a draft policy note that we plan to complete before the 2022 Ministerial Conference on Women’s Empowerment (MCWE) in Augustus in Bali," she added.
Several countries across the world have acknowledged Indonesia's active participation and commitment.
To this end, the G20 offers the right momentum to create an opportunity for dialogue and diplomacy with various countries in realizing gender equality, women's empowerment, and protection of women's rights, Rosalin remarked.
