In the first round, all delegates had expressed their support for the four priority issues brought up by Indonesia
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK's) Information and Data Deputy, Mochamad Hadiyana, said KPK will continue discussing four priority issues promoted by Indonesia to eradicate corruption in the G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group (ACWG) meeting's second round.

"In the first round, all delegates had expressed their support for the four priority issues brought up by Indonesia. Furthermore, we would continue the discussion with the delegates in the second round," Hadiyana noted in a statement here, Saturday.

ACWG is a part of the G20 working group that discusses about four priority issues comprising increasing the role of audit in eradicating corruption, public participation and anti-corruption education, regulatory framework and supervision of the role of the legal profession in money laundering from corruption, and eradicating corruption in the renewable energy sector.

The second round of meetings, which will be attended by 20 delegates from G20 member countries, will be held on July 5-8, 2022, in Nusa Dua, Bali. Earlier, the first round of the ACWG G20 meeting took place on March 28-31, 2022, and was attended virtually by all delegates.

He later conveyed that the role of the corruption eradication audit will be discussed in the high-level principle (HLP) regarding the agreed policy document to be implemented by the G20 member countries.

"Later on, this issue will become a binding policy document. The implementation will also be reviewed in the future," he stated.

Meanwhile, three other issues will be summarized or compendium.

In the second round of the ACWG G20 meeting, Hadiyana said that the KPK hoped all delegates would be able to exchange ideas to produce discussion conclusions in an effort to improve corruption eradication at the global level.

"Hopefully, the results of the discussion will have a positive impact on efforts to prevent or eradicate corruption at the domestic, regional, and global levels," he stated.

As an enrichment for discussing priority issues in preventing and eradicating corruption, the second round of the ACWG G20 meeting will involve several other groups, such as B20, C20, T20, L20, and P20, and also international organizations that focus on anti-corruption issues.
