"KAI offers service improvement to customers by providing free vaccination services in various stations," vice president of public relations at KAI, Joni Martinus, said in a statement received here on Wednesday.
The vaccination services are available at several KAI stations and Mediska clinics owned by the firm, which are located within the stations, he explained.
Currently, the services are available at Manggarai Station, Cirebon Mediska Clinic, Purwokerto Station, Kroya Mediska Clinic, Kutoarjo Mediska Clinic, Yogyakarta Mediska Clinic, Solo Balapan Mediska Clinic, Madiun Mediska Clinic, Gubeng Mediska Clinic (Surabaya), Jember Mediska Clinic, Padang Mediska Clinic, Palembang Mediska Clinic, Kertapati Station, Tanjungkarang Mediska Clinic, and Baturaja Station.
In the near future, free vaccination services will be provided at Gambir Station, Pasar Senen Station, Jatibarang Station, Semarang Poncol Mediska Clinic, Semarang Tawang Station, Medan Mediska Clinic, Tebing Tinggi Station, and Rantau Prapat Station.
"KAI will continue to increase the number of stations and clinics that serve free COVID-19 vaccines in various other locations," Martinus affirmed.
According to him, the services are being provided to help the community meet the travel requirement set by the government, under which, starting July 17, 2022, passengers aged above 17 who have received the booster vaccine dose will not be required to take a COVID-19 test.
Long-distance train customers who want to access the vaccination services must be aged 18 years and above and will need to show their train ticket booking codes, bring ID cards, and visit the vaccination location no later than one day before departure, he informed.
The provision of vaccination services at KAI stations is the result of a collaboration between KAI and several stakeholders, such as the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Transportation, Indonesian Military (TNI), National Police (Polri), local governments, and other parties.
Martinus expressed his gratitude to all parties who have helped provide free COVID-19 vaccination services at the stations and the stations' clinics.
