Jakarta (ANTARA) - Commemoration of the 77th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence themed "Recover Faster, Rise Stronger" must be interpreted to strengthen the national economy's resilience and adaptation, according to the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).

"Recovering faster must be interpreted as the spirit to encourage productivity of the national production sectors that should be able to strengthen resilience and adaptation of the national economy to the potential global economic crisis," Head of BRIN's Governance, Economy and Public Welfare Research Organization, Agus Eko Nugroho, told ANTARA here on Thursday.

According to Nugroho, productivity of the national production sectors should be improved by utilizing the results of research, technology, and innovation to adapt and rise from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The use of state-of-the-art technologies, including artificial intelligence, big data, and the Internet of Things (IoT), can be increasingly adopted and enhanced in various sectors to advance the economy and strengthen the nation's health resilience, he emphasized.

Nugroho said the theme "Recover Faster, Rise Stronger" must be interpreted as an ignition tool to light up the spirit of gotong royong, or mutual cooperation, of all elements of the country to recover and rise after the COVID-19 pandemic.

He believes that collaboration among various parties, including the government, academicians, researchers, the private sector, and the community, reflects the spirit of mutual cooperation among people.

Earlier, Trisakti University's public policy observer Trubus Rahadiansyah said the crises that have impacted the world should drive Indonesia to rise stronger in the coming years.

As a dynamic nation, he said, Indonesia must stand firm and straightforward but also free and active in facing various global challenges.
