The commemoration of Indonesia's 77th Independence Day bears the theme of "Recover Faster, Revive Stronger."
According to Makarim, this spirit is proven through his ministry's major role in garnering global collaboration to help one another to recover and revive the education system through the G20 presidency.
Indonesia has demonstrated to the world that the country's learning process supports students more, he noted.
In addition, it offers teachers the freedom to be creative while teaching through Kurikulum Merdeka (Freedom Curriculum) and Merdeka Mengajar (Freedom in Teaching) platform, he affirmed.
Moreover, other programs are implemented by the ministry to expand access to quality education, such as through the School Operational Aid (BOS) and various student support programs.
Moreover, the ministry has rolled out the Kampus Merdeka (Freedom in Campus) Program to create a younger generation trained to work in the business world.
In the culture sector, the minister, through a G20 forum, encourages countries across the world to provide funding support to artists and cultural actors to inspire their best works, especially during the post-pandemic period.
"This initiative is the continuation of the cultural endowment breakthrough and the first cultural platform in Indonesia that we have unveiled and has provided many benefits for our cultural actors," he explained.
Makarim noted that these breakthroughs are small segments of Merdeka Belajar that currently reach 21 episodes.
The ministry will unveil many more Merdeka Belajar episodes until every child in Indonesia can sense true freedom, he remarked.
This true freedom translates to being able to happily study, to create without hurdles, and to forge ahead to the future with bravery as the nation's students, he stated.
