Head of Indonesia’s Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Authority Bambang Susantono acted as the Inspector of Ceremonies, while the Penajam Paser Utara Legislative Body (DPRD) member Sariman read the text of the Proclamation.
Military Regional Commander (Danramil) 0913-04 Sepaku, Captain of Infantry Andi Supratikto, acted as the commander in the first Independence Day ceremony held at the zero point of IKN Nusantara.
The ceremony started with the reading of the Proclamation Text followed by a moment of silence led by Susantono.
At 10 a.m. local time, sirens were sounded for a minute to mark the Seconds of the Proclamation.
The ceremony was continued with the raising of the Red and White Flag by six members of the Ex-Flag Hoisting Troop (Purna Paskibra) of 2020-2021 of Penajam Paser Utara District.
The ceremony took place in an orderly and solemn manner and was attended by hundreds of participants, ranging from Sepaku Sub-district officials, Indonesian Military (TNI) and police personnel, as well as village officials.
Some traditional and community leaders, junior high to high school students, and local and youth organizations also joined the event.
Moreover, field or construction workers of the IKN Nusantara development project partook in the flag hoisting ceremony.
The ceremony for the 77th commemoration of Seconds of the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence Day was held to reflect the government's commitment to relocating and building the new capital of Indonesia, Susantono explained.
The formation of heavy equipment and field workers wearing complete personal protective equipment was symbolic of the consistency and technical readiness for developing IKN Nusantara, he stated.
"The momentum of independence must be a (source of) motivation in the process of transferring and developing Indonesia's new capital," he emphasized.
