"A healthy paradigm is implemented by strengthening promotive and preventive efforts, including preventing health problems, by following a clean and healthy living behavior," Djoerban remarked when contacted by ANTARA here on Friday.
Djoerban, who is also a specialist in internal medicine, with sub-specialization in hematology and oncology, said implementation of a healthy paradigm aims to support the "Recover Faster, Revive Stronger" theme of the Indonesian Independence Day celebration.
He said that the implementation of a healthy paradigm aims to maintain health conditions, so that the focus can be directed at promotive and preventive services without compromising curative and rehabilitative services.
"The implementation of this healthy paradigm is also in line with the government's program, the healthy living community movement or Germas, to prevent various diseases," he affirmed.
Implementation of the Healthy Living Community Movement entails seven steps: physical activity, consuming fruits and vegetables, not smoking, not consuming alcoholic beverages, going for regular health checkups, maintaining environmental cleanliness, and using the toilet.
"An example is the habit of exercising or engaging in physical activity that is very good for preventing various diseases, such as stroke and heart disease. Meanwhile, eating vegetables and fruits is also very good for health," he remarked.
He appealed to all individuals to continue to strengthen the movement for healthy living in order to maintain the quality of health and endurance, especially in the midst of the current COVID-19 pandemic.
"The momentum of Indonesia's Independence Day can be used to strengthen the movement of people to live healthy, so that people stay healthy and prevent various diseases," he stated.
Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy earlier noted that the celebration of the 77th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia was the right momentum for the community to strengthen the movement for healthy living in order to prevent various health problems.
"The movement for healthy living is a priority program in the National Medium-Term Plan whose implementation needs to be strengthened," Effendy remarked.
