Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Communication and Informatics Ministry (Kominfo) holds the annual Kominfo Journalistic Award (AJK) competition for which the registration is open from August 19, 2022.

The five competition categories comprise print media, online media, TV, radio, and journalistic photo. Deadline for the submission is October 19, 2022.

The top 10 works will be announced on November 15, 2022, through the website ajk.kominfo.go.id and the Instagram account @ajkominfo. The summit of the 2022 AJK will be held on November 30, 2022.

Complete information on registration, special and general requirements, as well as implementation of the 2022 AJK summit event can be accessed through the link s.id/launchingAJK2022, s.id/bookletAJK2022, and ajk.kominfo.go.id.

Kominfo has initiated the AJK as a form of appreciation for press across the country since 2018.

In the event's fifth edition, the AJK is themed "Indonesia G20 Presidency Realizes Inclusive, Empowering, and Sustainable Digital Transformation."

The ministry's Secretary General Mira Tayyiba stated that AJK's theme is the realization of an important momentum in which Indonesia becomes the host of G20 this year.

"This group is a multilateral cooperation forum that comprises 19 countries, including Indonesia and the European Union," she noted during the virtual unveiling of the 2022 AJK from Kominfo's Office, here, Thursday, as quoted from a press statement.

For this year's G20 Presidency, digital-based economic transformation or digital transformation became one of the three main priorities of the forum, she remarked.

Kominfo, as part of the Digital Economic Working Group (DEWG) within the G20 Presidency, raises three priority issues in the digital sector: connectivity and post-pandemic COVID-19 recovery, digital skills and literacy, and cross-border data flow.

From the three principles that become part of the digital transformation agenda, Tayyiba expects that the 2022 AJK can be a competition that inspires journalist's works to further raise public awareness of the G20 Presidency.

She urged the press across Indonesia to participate and compete through their best works in the 2022 AJK.
