(Thanks to the revitalization) all personnel of AP II and stakeholders are able to carry out their duties properly to serve flights at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Director of state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II Muhammad Awaluddin noted that services at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport had improved as a result of its revitalization and availability of new facilities.

"After being reopened for commercial flights from September 1 to 10, (it turned out that) the revitalization carried out by Transportation Ministry had increased the service standards and flight operations (at the airport)," he remarked here on Saturday.

He said the passenger flow at the airport was much better thanks to the availability of several additional facilities at arrival area.

In addition, the area has also been expanded to reach 1,200 square meters or about 30 percent larger than previous condition.

Furthermore, the arrival area now has three units of baggage carousel so that passengers can pick up their luggage faster.

Moreover, the.availability of those additional devices has also enabled the airlines to meet their on-time performance (OTP) targets.

Awaluddin further said the improving flight services at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport were also supported by the revitalization of runway and drainage system.

The completion of the revitalization of the airport has also increased the number of flights. Cumulatively, after being re-opened, the airport had served 214 flights and 17,254 passengers.

Scheduled commercial airlines which currently serve passengers at the airport include Citilink, which is the subsidiary of Indonesia’s flag carrier Garuda Indonesia, and Batik Air, which is the subsidiary of Indonesian private airline Lion Air.

With the current runway length of three thousand meters, all types of planes, including Boeing 747 and Boeing 777, can land at this East Jakarta-based airport.

"(Thanks to the revitalization) all personnel of AP II and stakeholders are able to carry out their duties properly to serve flights at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport," Awaluddin added.
