Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government will speed up the implementation of the One Map Policy by holding a National Working Meeting (Rakernas) on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, in Jakarta, involving over 500 participants from all Indonesian provinces.

"We are accelerating the completion of the action plans that have been prepared by ministries/institutions and local governments," Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs' Deputy for Regional Development and Spatial Planning Wahyu Utomo stated during a media briefing here on Tuesday.

At the National Working Meeting, Utomo remarked that each ministry and institution as well as local government has a plan that will be discussed in detail to identify key problems.

"Hence, we can start planning for a solution, and we hope that by the first semester of 2024, the action plans would have been well-mapped and made into a joint commitment," he remarked.

The goals of implementing the National Working Meeting on the One Map Policy are to deliver progress on the program and resolve discrepancies in spatial utilization, disseminate information on a system that supports the One Map Policy, and discuss ideas and breakthroughs in responding to the existing challenges.

The Rakernas will also invite universities, development partners, and associations. It will comprise three events, with the first being, the pre-event in the form of a poster and video competition; second, a media gathering; and third, the main event encompassing a ministerial forum, the launch of the "IGT Overlapping Indicative Map Information System (SIPITTI)", an interactive dialogue; and the national working meeting itself.
