I believe it (the joint statement) will have a good impact nationally and globally to solve the challenges of the labor sector in the midst of the current uncertain (global) situation.
Badung, Bali (ANTARA) - Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah welcomed the joint statements between Indonesia's 2022 G20 Sherpa Track forums -- Labor 20 (L20) and Business 20 (B20) -- to improve employment conditions.

B20 is G20's official dialogue forum with the global business community. It provides practical policy recommendations from a business viewpoint to the G20. Meanwhile, L20 provides analyses and policy recommendations aimed at improving labor-related issues.

In a written statement on Wednesday, the minister said that the joint statement showed the commitment of B20 and L20 to realize the spirit of the theme of Indonesia’s 2022 G20 Presidency, "Recover Together, Recover Stronger."

Hence, Fauziyah lauded the joint statement that aligned with the priority issues of the G20 Employment Working Group (EWG) -- a forum for discussing economic and social aspects of employment-related policies -- which had been discussed since early March.

"I believe it (the joint statement) will have a good impact, nationally and globally, to solve challenges of the labor sector in the midst of current uncertain (global) situation," she remarked at the G20 Labor and Employment Ministers Networking Dinner with Social Partners here on Tuesday (September 13, 2022).

Chairperson of 2022 G20 B20 Shinta Kamdani stated that B20 is committed to contributing to the improvement of global employment conditions through the joint statement to create inclusive, innovative, and collaborative economic growth.

B20 and L20 have identified several challenges that should be addressed through three priority agendas, she noted

The agendas comprise encouraging productive, modern, and decent working opportunities; supporting sustainable companies to create decent wage conditions and establish non-discriminatory company policies; as well as strengthening the implementation of gender equality in corporations.

"B20 and L20 have collaborated closely to overcome global and geopolitical challenges by preparing recommendations to encourage reforms for better labor conditions, especially to address gaps in employment opportunities and conditions between developed and developing countries," Kamdani added.
