We are aiming to reach the target of one million West Java MSMEsBandung, West Java (ANTARA) - The Cooperatives and Small Enterprises Office of West Java Province has proposed around 400 thousand micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in West Java to receive cash assistance from the central government.
Head of the West Java Cooperatives and Small Enterprises Office Kusmana Hartadji stated that the West Java government is targeting one million MSMEs in the province to receive social assistance as compensation for the adjustment in fuel prices from the central government. However, only around 400 thousand of them have been proposed based on the received data.
"Only (data of) 400 thousand (MSMEs) that have been received. We are managing 27 districts and cities. We are aiming to reach the target of one million West Java MSMEs," he stated when contacted here on Monday.

He noted that the provincial government of West Java is collecting the data of prospective beneficiaries by cooperating with city, district, sub-district, and village governments.
He confirmed that the data of around 400 thousand prospective beneficiaries will be cross-checked by using the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) to prevent choosing those that have already become beneficiaries of other assistance programs as the selected beneficiaries.
Hartadji explained that the government has provided social assistance to MSME players since 2020. In early 2020, the government provided assistance worth Rp2.4 million to each microenterprise. In 2021, the government provided assistance to MSMEs, with Rp1.2 million for each MSME player.
He remarked that cash assistance for MSMEs reached Rp600 thousand for each beneficiary. The assistance is aimed at increasing MSMEs' business capital, so it will be disbursed at once and not in stages.

Earlier, the Indonesian government, on Saturday, September 3, raised the price of subsidized Pertalite fuel, from Rp7,650 per liter to Rp10 thousand per liter; subsidized diesel, from Rp5,150 per liter to Rp6,800 per liter; and non-subsidized Pertamax, from Rp12,500 to Rp14,500 per liter.
This increase came into force after the government shifted the fuel subsidies to social assistance since the number of energy subsidies and compensation taken from the state budget had reached Rp502.4 trillion, including energy subsidies of Rp208.9 trillion and energy compensation of Rp293.5 trillion.
