Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government has built a solid technological infrastructure to support the provision of services to around 14 million beneficiaries of the Pre-Employment Card (Kartu PraKerja) program.

"In the last two years, we have successfully built a solid technology architecture; running high-scale operations to serve more than 14 million pre-employment card beneficiaries," director of technology for the pre-employment card program implementation management, Samsu Sempena, said here on Monday.

A strong technological infrastructure is needed to provide efficient public services to the community, including in the Pre-Employment Card execution, he added.

Speaking at the 2022 Alibaba Cloud Summit in Phuket, Thailand, on September 22, he explained the use of Cloud Native strategies with container technology called Kubernetes (K8s).

He said that the Cloud Native can support efficiency in workload assembling in the Pre-Employment Card program’s implementation.

Sempena also underlined the importance of consistency in utilizing technology in the program that can offer benefits to the labor force.

"This high volume of traffic must be supported by strong technology since this traffic (of beneficiaries) usually increases up to five times every period of a new (program) batch opening," he added.

He said that the Kartu PraKerja program's management has developed the utilization of Cloud Native strategies with various automation and threat detection features to improve security.

The Pre-Employment Card Program aims to enhance professional and entrepreneurship skills by providing fee assistance for job seekers to attend training and offering incentives for business capital.

Launched in 2020, the program also targets workers affected by layoffs, workers who seek to improve their competencies, and even micro and small business actors.

The government is implementing the inclusive program to increase manpower productivity and competitiveness and support the development of entrepreneurship.
