President Jokowi has, on numerous occasions, said that the result of G20 meetings should be in the form of deliverables and concrete results
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The third G20 Sherpa meeting in Yogyakarta will focus on discussing the leaders' declaration draft, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs' Secretary Susiwijono stated through an online press conference, Tuesday.

This draft comes from 39 parties, comprising 20 G20 member countries, nine invited countries, and 10 invited international organizations, that will attend the G20 Summit Conference in Bali, November.

The G20 Sherpa Meeting is a forum for G20 countries to discuss issues related to energy, development, tourism, digital economy, education, labor, agriculture, trade, investment, industry, health, anti-corruption, environment, and climate change.

The discussion results on all 437 G20 meetings will be compiled, consolidated, and submitted during the Sherpa meeting, he stated.

From there, it will be formulated in the form of the leaders' declaration draft that will be discussed and adopted at the summit, he stated.

Thus far, the 437 meetings held during Indonesia's G20 Presidency comprise 184 official meetings and 253 side events. These meetings are managed by 12 working groups and 10 engagement groups.

The third Sherpa track meeting is expected to be successful and efficient, as well as produce a consensus, so that the leaders' declaration can be agreed upon during the summit in Bali.

At the third Sherpa track meeting, only one delegation requested to attend virtually. However, most delegations will attend physically since the COVID-19 pandemic is already brought under control in Indonesia, Susiwijono noted.

In addition, every delegation seeks to produce a leaders' declaration with the best substance, he remarked.

During the event, he also noted that Indonesia's G20 Presidency encourages the result of the summit that can be implemented.

"President Jokowi has, on numerous occasions, said that the result of G20 meetings should be in the form of deliverables and concrete results," he emphasized.
