"The temporary number of evacuees is 2,436 people from 560 family heads," BPBA Acting Chief Ilyas stated here on Saturday.
On Friday (October 7), a landslide and floods hit several villages in East Aceh that resulted in road sections and six power poles being covered in landslide materials.
"Moderate to heavy rains have caused floods, with waters reaching a height of 50-150 cm and a landslide in East Aceh," he remarked.
Based on the BPBA temporary data, a landslide occurred in Sijudi Village, Pante Bidari Sub-district, while floods occurred in Blang Seunong Village, Pante Bidari; Arul Pinang, Punaron Sub-district; and Paya Tampah Village, Paya Bili II, and Alue Gadeng II, Birem Bayeun Sub-district.
Floods also hit villages of North Julok Rayeuk, Alue Ie Mirah, Pelita Sagop Jaya, and South Julok Rayeuk in Indra Makmur Sub-district, and Alue Siwah Serdang in Nurussalam Sub-district and Jambo Reuhat in Banda Alam Sub-district.

"Meanwhile, there are 320 evacuees from 80 family heads in Pante Bidari and 2,116 people from 480 family heads in Indra Makmur," Ilyas remarked.
Furthermore, Ilyas said at some locations, the floods began to recede, while in others, they increased again.
Meanwhile, the East Aceh District Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) has coordinated with all parties to conduct the evacuation of residents and disaster alertness.
"In the recent condition, landslide material is still covering the road section. (Flooding) in Blang Seunong Village, which receded yesterday, submerged roads and residents' houses again today. The similar situation also occurred in Birem Bayeun and Indra Makmur sub-districts," he said.
Moreover, East Aceh BPBD Acting Chief Ashadi noted that his side has coordinated with sub-district governments to set up public kitchens and distribute assistance to evacuation camps.
"We also distributed emergency response assistance to communities affected by floods. We hope that the sub-district and village heads actively convey the latest information to the disaster posts," he said.
