"Currently, equestrian sports championships almost run every two weeks, which were held every two to three months a few years ago," Yuanita noted.
The most recent competition was the 56th National Championship Series II - Presidential Cup 2022, which was opened by Youth and Sports Minister Zainudin Amali at the Ki Ageng Astro Joyo Horse Racing Center in Surabaya, East Java, on Sunday (October 9, 2022).
It was attended by 12 provincial contingents from host East Java, North Sumatra, Lampung, Jakarta, Central Java, Yogyakarta, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara, and Papua.
In the past three years, equestrian sports have progressed rapidly in terms of people's interests and the industry, Yuanita revealed.
For this reason, Pordasi, as the national equestrian sports organization, is striving to hold programs, ranging from competitions to training, for improving achievements.
Pordasi is also conducting informational activities on sports science, the sports industry, and sports tourism.
Along the way, there have been many challenges, especially the COVID-19 pandemic, Yuanita said.
"Even with the pandemic, PP Pordasi is striving hard that the wheels of organization and coaching activities never stop," she added.
Pordasi has successfully fostered the achievements and public interest in equestrian sports through various alternative ways, she said.
For instance, Pordasi gained the trust of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI/Fédération Equestre Internationale) to make Indonesia the host of the 2021 Jumping World Challenge (JWC) finals.
According to her, public interest in equestrianism is evidenced by the growing number of stables, horse owners, and competitions in regions.
