The president has set the target of one million small industries with TKDN certificates, which we will provide free of charge
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Industry has aimed for one million small industries with domestic component level (TKDN) certificates in accordance with President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi's) instruction.

"The president has set the target of one million small industries with TKDN certificates, which we will provide free of charge. We will also exert our efforts to achieve the goal," the ministry's Secretary General, Dody Widodo, told ANTARA here, Tuesday.

The secretary general noted that Industry Minister Regulation No. 43 of 2022 on Methods to Appoint Independent Verification Agencies and Sanctions in Calculating and Verifying TKDN and Company Benefit Weight (BMP) Value had been enacted to accelerate the process to achieve the target.

According to the regulation, the ministry has opened opportunities for other agencies outside Sucofindo and Surveyor Indonesia to become the assessor for TKDN certification, Widodo remarked.

"The revision aims to allow other credible and accountable survey institutions to verify and calculate the TKDN level of a product although the final legalization process will remain on the Domestic Product Utilisation Enhancement Centre (P3DN)," Widodo noted.

The increasing number of TKDN certification assessors is expected to expedite the process of small industries to obtain TKDN certificates free of charge, considering the fact that the small industry accounted for 93 percent of the national industry, the secretary general expounded.

He affirmed that the regulation also allowed small industries to conduct a self-assessment of their products' domestic component level, and the ministry will provide a complete guide for the process.

"Small industries will be provided the complete guide, and they are required to register their products with full responsibility," Widodo remarked.
