We expect support in the implementation of the school clinics and healthy school program, and collaboration with all government levels, from the provincial to the sub-district levelsJakarta (ANTARA) - The implementation and revitalization of school clinics require support from regional authorities at the provincial, district and city, and sub-district levels, according to the Health Ministry's school age and teenager health team.
"We expect support in the implementation of the school clinics and healthy school program, and collaboration with all government levels, from the provincial to the sub-district levels," the team’s head, Dr. Inti Mujiati, said at a webinar on Thursday.
Coordination between school clinic supervisory teams and implementation teams must be enhanced to ensure optimum school clinic implementation, she added.
“The school clinic implementation team must observe and analyse activities at the school clinic, as well as issues with the school or pupils' profiles. They must later cooperate with the school clinic's supervisory team to develop the clinic revitalization," the official said.

The profiles comprise first health assessment, routine health checks, and stratification of school clinic data, she informed.
While the first health assessment of students is conducted in their first year at primary- and secondary-level schools, routine health checks are conducted in 2nd to 6th grade at primary schools, 8th to 9th grade at junior high schools, and 11th to 12th grade at senior high schools, Mujiati explained.
The stratification of school clinics is conducted by assessing their management standard based on the three principles of Indonesian school clinics -- health education, health service, and healthy school development, she added.

Health officers' contributions are needed in the preparation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and management stages of school clinic implementation, she said.
"We also need to coordinate with public health centers that have the duty to supervise the school in implementing the school clinic principles," Mujiati added.
Coordination and integration at the regional level are essential to enhance the school clinic supervisory and implementation teams' performance, she said.
