Jakarta (ANTARA) - Comprehensive measurements must be undertaken to encourage improvement in productivity, the Manpower Ministry's Director General of Vocational Training Development and Productivity (Binalavotas) Budi Hartawan has said.

"Measurement will encourage comprehensive improvement in productivity, efficiency, quality, and capability in responding to manpower challenges," he said in a statement issued on Saturday.



For companies, productivity measurement is important to determine how far the production process helps balance profit and workers' wages, he explained.



Meanwhile, for ministries and institutions, productivity measurement is very important since it can help evaluate processes and the results of bureaucratic reforms.

To this end, the ministry held the 2022 Siddhakarya Award for Jakarta and Central Java at the Jakarta Convention Center here on Friday.



The award is given to companies that manage to improve their productivity and is a part of the government's efforts to improve the quality of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).



This year, the ministry bestowed Siddhakarya Awards to 12 companies in Jakarta and Central Java in the superior category and 4 companies in the developing category.



Hartawan congratulated the companies for improving their productivity and human resources.

"I want all of us to be able to synergize in improving Indonesia's productivity and human resources," he remarked.



At the Jakarta Convention Center, the ministry has also organized a Vocational Training Festival and National Job Fair from October 28–30, 2022 as part of the 2022 National Vocational Training Month (BPVN).



Hartawan urged people to participate in the event. Organized under the SiapKerja manpower ecosystem, the festival, certification, and job fair event is open to the public and free of charge.
