Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Health Ministry, in collaboration with state-owned pharmaceutical firm Kimia Farma, updated the mechanism of free telemedicine services for patients undergoing self-isolation after being confirmed positive for COVID-19.

"The (telemedicine service for) self-isolation service is still available. All medicines can be picked up directly at the designated Kimia Farma pharmacy," Head of the Communications and Public Service Bureau of the ministry Siti Nadia Tarmizi remarked here on Sunday.

Tarmizi noted that currently, the medicine can be taken directly by healthy family members of patients at designated Kimia Farma drugstores without waiting for the delivery of medicine packages by couriers.

People undergoing self-isolation can contact the Health Ministry's WhatsApp number at 081110500567 to avail telemedicine services, she stated.

The free service can be accessed by people carrying out COVID-19 tests at various laboratories connected with the ministry’s New All Record (NAR) system.

Patients, whose identity card number (NIK) is registered at the NAR system, can have an online consultation with a doctor at one of the designated health service applications for free by using a voucher code titled "ISOMAN."

The doctor will provide a digital prescription in accordance with the patient's condition.

Furthermore, the patient can upload the digital prescription, send his or her identity card, and complete the delivery address at the ministry’s website.

Patients can choose a self-pickup delivery service. Each patient will be given a package code to be used to confirm the pick-up.

Furthermore, the community is advised to continue to conduct strict health protocols to avoid the transmission of COVID-19 owing to a spike in cases in 30 provinces in the past week.

The surge in the number of cases occurred in line with the findings of the XBB variant of COVID-19 in Indonesia.

"Hence, the public is urged to enforce health protocols, avoid crowds, and get vaccinated to prevent and mitigate COVID-19 transmission," Tarmizi added.
