He made the remarks while opening the GTF-AM 2022 in Jimbaran, here on Thursday.
The GTF-AM 2022 is being held on November 17 and 18 under a collaboration between the Indonesia Tourism Forum (ITF) and the World Tourism Forum Institute (WTFI).
The meeting, which is themed “Time for Travel and Tourism: From Words to Action,” is essential because currently, the world of tourism has entered the recovery phase, which has presented its own challenges, Uno said.
"We hope (we) can rethink and reshape the conversation on travel and tourism issues at this leading forum, as well as rebuild the sector better through strategic actions," he added.
He called for strengthening the partnership between the public and private sectors to push investment and infrastructure development that is sustainable as well as train and build the capacity of human resources for inclusive, resilient, and sustainable tourism.
Meanwhile, the chairman of ITF, Sapta Nirwandar, expressed the hope that the activity would have a positive impact on the development of tourism, specifically the development of new tourist attractions. He also said he hopes that, as the host, this impact would really be felt by Indonesia.
"This two-day forum in Bali is more than just 'talking' about strategies and recommendations in tourism. We are really going to run and implement them because here we will hold business meetings, B2B (business-to-business) and B2G (business-to-government), as well as an Investment Forum, which will be attended by more than 20 investors who will build the industry stronger," he informed.
