Jakarta (ANTARA) - Zeng Weijing, President of Huawei's Indonesia Enterprise Business, said that Indonesia's electricity market has huge investment potential. Huawei has adopted innovative solutions to jointly introduce and build digital infrastructure to promote digital transformation and green low-carbon.

Recently, Indonesia has successfully organized its G-20 Presidency in Bali. Thousands of industries in Indonesia have been actively responding to the changes of the new period. In the past few years, Indonesia's economy has maintained rapid growth despite the pressure coming from the global economic downturn and the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic. In recent years, the Indonesian government has proposed plans to strengthen infrastructure construction to boost economic growth. Investment policies are open. The energy market is attractive to international investment. The National Electricity Master Plan (RUPTL) estimates that the power demand in Indonesia will grow at a rate of 4.9% per year. By 2027, 79 million customers will have 443 TWh of electricity demand.

Building a Community of Electric Power in Indonesia. Energy Concerns Must Not Be Ignored.

Energy development in Asia-Pacific is moving in the direction of green, low-carbon, clean, and efficient technologies. Renewable energy will become the main source of electricity supply growth in the next 5-10 years. Obviously, Indonesia is one of the countries in the Asia-Pacific region with the fastest growth in energy production and consumption in recent years, and it is quickly becoming an important market and a major supply and demand growth point for future global energy and electricity development.

Indonesia has a large population, fast economic growth, and a high energy demand. It is critical to cooperate with ICT infrastructure service providers. After more than 10 years of service to customers and the industry, Huawei officially established the Electric Power Digitalization Business Unit in May this year. It combines industry partners to find technologies for scenarios, so Huawei can serve power customers quickly and efficiently. Along with Indonesia’s largest state electricity company, PLN, Huawei has been working closely to help manage the entire industry chain of power supply, transmission, transformation, distribution, and use in Indonesia. At the same time, Huawei assists customers in developing their five-year strategy plan.

Digital transformation is the key to supporting energy transformation and finally achieving zero emissions.

Facing the goal of net zero emissions, Indonesia's energy industry should actively build a future-oriented zero carbon smart system, strengthen innovation cooperation in green technologies, and strengthen integrated market cooperation. Digital transformation of power system is a key project, which needs to be attached great importance from the strategic level.

At first, through the zero-carbon transformation, energy savings and consumption reduction, gradually decarbonizes through the full life-cycle management of carbon assets, negative-carbon technology and market trading, and finally achieving the net zero emissions.

Second, through energy transformation, the energy production and consumption modes will be transformed to green energy conservation and a high-efficiency economy, from a single centralized energy supply mode to a multi-diverse distributed energy system, in order to achieve efficient comprehensive energy coordination and improve comprehensive energy utilization efficiency.

Thirdly, through digital transformation, transform from informatization to digitalization, and finally achieve smartization, providing digital support for zero-carbon transformation and energy transformation.

Huawei's Innovative Digital Technologies will contribute to Indonesia's Sustainable Development

Digitization is reshaping Asia-Pacific economies, and countries will boost their growth potential by investing in digital infrastructure and manpower. The power industry is related to the national economy and national security of Indonesia. In the medium and long-term development strategic planning of enterprises, the green, low carbon, reliability and security of critical infrastructure of electric power system are crucial.

On the green "source" side , in the future power system of Indonesia, a high proportion of new energy sources, such as photovoltaic and wind power, will be connected to the future power system of Indonesia. Huawei's campus will be powered by 85% renewable energy, and all terminals will use electricity, reducing the annual emissions by 5,600 t of CO2.

In terms of economy, Huawei uses microwave and Wi-Fi self-networking modes and AI technologies to build an intelligent inspection solution, greatly reducing O&M costs and improving the power economy in Indonesia.

In terms of security, we mainly use the three-layer protection mechanism to help customers protect the digital space security of the power system. At the transmission layer of the electric power communication network, Huawei's MS-OTN technology is used to establish dual planes to build a high reliability and redundancy electric communication network that meets future electric power service requirements.

At the network access layer, zero-trust networks and abnormal traffic monitoring are used to strictly prevent network intrusion. At the data layer, the four-layer anti-rampion solution ensures zero data tampering, zero deletion, and zero loss. These solutions have been successfully practiced in Indonesia and many power companies around the world.

Guided by Huawei I Do Collaborate, as the leading global ICT provider, Huawei aims to continuously support the local power industry ecosystem through its strategy of managing ‘more bits, less watts,’ in order to realize the national vision, including the net zero target by 2060. As part of this endeavor, Huawei will be participating in the 77th Indonesia National Electricity Day which will be held in Jakarta from November 29 to 30 and delivering a keynote speech on “Unleash the Unique Value of Digital for Global Net-Zero Emissions. Government officials, energy industry experts, researchers, and partners from Indonesia and Asia Pacific will gather together and discuss the development trend of regional energy and the future of green and low carbon transformation.

Not only Indonesia, but also the Asia-Pacific region is expected to make greater progress in energy digital transformation. Huawei will provide innovative infrastructure for Asia-Pacific enterprises to explore new opportunities for sustainable development and economic growth.
