"The problem is in the systemic interconnection at the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM)," Immigration Sub-Coordinator of Public Relations Achmad Nur Saleh remarked here on Thursday.
System disruption was reported to have occurred in the past week. Meanwhile, the number of incoming applications for investor visas ranged from 100 to 500 daily.
According to Saleh, there were no obstacles in the visa service system at the Immigration. An error had occurred in the system connected to the BKPM, so the applicant could not withdraw data and apply for an investor visa.
Meanwhile, the public complaint handling team has identified several issues, such as the visa sponsor not being able to apply for a limited stay visa for foreign investors (C313 and C314 visas).
Another issue is that prospective sponsors with the type of foreign investment company (PMA) could not register themselves.
The related technical team found that the Immigration Information and Management System could not accept shareholder data from the Online Single Submission (OSS) at BKPM, Saleh explained.
In response, the Directorate General of Immigration has written to BKPM to fix systemic problems, so that visa services for foreign investors can return to normal.
A letter, dated November 28, 2022, was also published, and coordination continues to be conducted for improving services to the community.
Since May 9, 2019, the Directorate General of Immigration has collaborated with BKPM on the integration of the Business Licensing System comprising an electronic Investment Information and Licensing Service System (SPIPISE), the OSS managed by BKPM, and the Immigration Management Information System (SIMKIM) managed by immigration.
