With this system, it is hoped that innovation in the regions can be implemented sustainably and advance local economic growth.Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) has developed a website-based Regional Innovation Radar System (R-SIDa) application to bolster the development of local economic innovations in Indonesia.
"With this system, it is hoped that innovation in the regions can be implemented sustainably and advance local economic growth," coordinator for project management at BRIN’s Technology Service Center (Pusyantek), Mohamad Taufiek, said in a statement released on Tuesday.
The R-SIDa is a regional, innovative, capacity assessment tool that evaluates the realization of a number of indicators in the implementation of a regional innovative program.
The application is also expected to help local governments assess the development of regional innovation programs as one of the bases for policy formulation.
Hence, the regional program can be improved based on the results of the evaluation, Taufiek said.
The R-SIDa application can be accessed through the link: http://radarinovasidaerah.id.
Members of the city/district Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), Regional Research and Development Agency (Balitbangda), as well as Regional Research and Innovation Agency (Brida) who want to assess their respective regional innovative programs need to fill out a questionnaire in the R-SIDa application.
BRIN has conducted the trial implementation of the app in the activities of three regional agency partners, namely the Pekalongan city Bappeda, the Pelalawan district Balitbangda, and the Pemalang district Bappeda.
Head of Pekalongan city Bappeda, Cayekti Widigdo, said that the R-SIDa application has been helpful in assessing the implementation of regional innovation programs in Pekalongan city from the regulatory, institutional, innovator, and government perspectives.
Currently, the Pekalongan city government is striving to establish a sustainable regional innovation program and implement it in many sectors, he added.
Widigdo said he expected the city to become a model for other regions in implementing a regional innovation program.
"We have a barometer of success for the implementation of the regional innovation program in Pekalongan city. We hope to continue to be facilitated in evaluating our regional innovations and to get more concrete inputs for the improvement of our program," he added.
