Just like the proposals for intangible cultural heritage in previous years, this effort underwent a number of processes until finally, the Southeast Sulawesi provincial government succeeded in receiving the certificates for the three
Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi (ANTARA) - Three intangible cultural heritage elements from Southeast Sulawesi—Lumense Dance, Kabuenga Tradition, and Mondotambe Dance—have made it to the national list this year, the province's acting regional secretary, Asrun Lio, informed here on Monday.

"Alhamdulillah (Thank God), at the end of 2022, our intangible cultural heritage increased by three, which are the Lumense Dance, Kabuenga Tradition, and Mondotambe Dance, so the total reaches 27 this year," Lio said.

Every year, proposals for the recognition of intangible cultural heritage elements are submitted by the Southeast Sulawesi Education and Culture Office to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.

"Just like the proposals for intangible cultural heritage in previous years, this effort underwent a number of processes until finally, the Southeast Sulawesi provincial government succeeded in receiving the certificates for the three," he explained.

More proposals will continue to be made to preserve the cultural heritage elements of Southeast Sulawesi and prevent them from being claimed by other nations.

The elements of culture and traditions of the region are proposed to the ministry for inclusion as national intangible cultural heritage.

"This is a shared responsibility and commitment to inventory the culture in Southeast Sulawesi province," Lio said.

The 27 intangible cultural heritage elements include Raigo Dance, customary law symbol Kalosara, traditional performance Kabanti, art performance Lariangi, unique kite Kaghati, Mosehe tradition, Lulo Dance, Balumpa Dance, and the Kabanti Kaluku Panda manuscript.

In addition to its art and cultural wealth, the province has natural wealth. Therefore, it is important to invite all stakeholders to help develop the intangible cultural heritage of the region.

"The government continues to encourage all relevant parties in Southeast Sulawesi to jointly inventory and propose the intangible cultural heritage to the central government in order to make them a legacy for the next generation and get recognition from the country and even to the world community," Lio said.
