"Cumulatively, Maluku's export value during the January-November 2022 period was recorded at US$68.84 million, an increase of around 86.55 percent as compared to the same period from January to November 2021," Head of BPS Maluku Province Asep Riyadi remarked here on Tuesday.
Riyadi noted that exports from Maluku from January to November 2022 came from oil and gas commodities, including crude petroleum oil amounting to US$26.33 million.
Non-oil and gas commodities also contributed an increase of US$42.51 million to exports.
These commodities include loin tuna, yellowfin tuna, squid, live grouper fish, parrot fish, rajabau fish, surgeon fish, mangrove crab shrimp, copal gum natural product for industry, nutmeg and mace powder, walnut kernels, eucalyptus oil and spare parts for other machines.
"During the January-November 2022 period, Maluku's export volume has reached 44.23 thousand tons, down 16.78 percent as compared to the same period in 2021," he stated.
Riyadi explained that Maluku exported to ASEAN member countries during the January-November 2022, with the largest exports going to Singapore, worth US$3.30 million, an increase of 977.66 percent as compared to the same period in 2021.
Exports to other Asian regions were to China and constituted 47.70 percent of Maluku's total exports, while exports to Japan decreased by around 25.29 percent as compared to the same period in 2021.
Meanwhile, Maluku's exports in November 2022 had reached US$6.53 million, a decrease of around 14.05 percent as compared to exports in October 2022. Maluku's exports in November 2022 came from the non-oil and gas sector.
The cumulative value of commodity exports from Maluku's outer ports during the January-November 2022 period had reached US$34.72 million, an increase of 120 percent as compared to the same period in 2021.
Meanwhile, the total value of exports through Maluku's outer ports in November 2022 has reached US$3.94 million, a decrease of 45.90 percent as compared to October 2022.
