Jakarta (ANTARA) - Increased revenues of government ministries and institutions boosted the national non-tax state revenue in 2022, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati has informed.

"Positive performances we see at several ministries and institutions that are levying non-tax state revenues are outstanding," the minister said at a press conference on the state budget here on Tuesday.

The National Police, which levies fees for issuing driving licenses, vehicle licenses, vehicle ownership licenses, and vehicle plates, recorded Rp9.4 trillion in non-tax state revenue in 2022, an increase of 6.8 percent compared with the year-ago period, when the revenue stood at Rp8.8 trillion, she expounded.

Meanwhile, the Transportation Ministry recorded Rp7.3 trillion in non-tax revenue in 2022, an increase of 10.4 percent from the year-ago period, when the revenue was recorded at Rp6.7 trillion, she said.

The Transportation Ministry's revenue was boosted by airport concession fees and aviation navigation and port service fees, Indrawati highlighted.

The Ministry of Law and Human Rights recorded a 106.3-percent year-on-year increase in revenue. It generated Rp6.6 trillion in revenue from legal administration and services in 2022 compared with Rp3.2 trillion in the corresponding period of the previous year, the minister said.

The major sources of revenue for the ministry were passport, visa, and entry permit fees amid the normalization of Umrah, Hajj, and international travel in 2022, she added.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (BPN) added Rp2.6 billion in non-tax revenue from electronic-based land services for the state, an increase of 18.2 percent from Rp2.2 trillion in the year-ago period, the finance minister informed.

The Health Ministry also generated Rp3.7 trillion in non-tax state revenue, reflecting an increase of as much as 468.1 percent compared to the same period in the previous year, when the figure stood at just Rp0.7 trillion, she said.

The ministry's non-tax revenue was mostly derived from health services and facilities provided during the COVID-19 pandemic, Indrawati added.
