"The matching fund scheme program can renew and enhance innovations in vocational education, both at vocational schools and universities," she added here on Tuesday.
She said that the ministry has implemented the Vocational School Center for Excellence with the Matching Support Scheme program, which several vocational schools in the country have participated in. In the first year of the program, namely 2022, 349 companies synergized with vocational schools with the investment value reaching Rp439 billion.
She expressed her gratitude to industries that have provided opportunities for vocational schools to collaborate.
"In the future, vocational schools will produce human resources that are competent and relevant to the needs of industries," she said.
Yuliati explained that the synergy between the government and business entities in the world of work, the business world, and the industrial world is very important. It is not only expected to maintain the continuity of vocational education implementation, but also support efforts to increase the nation's competitiveness as well as the growth of the national economy.
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology is also encouraging industries to make the most of the regulation on tax incentives, namely the Finance Minister’s Regulation on super tax deduction issued in 2019. In 2021, the Directorate General of Vocational Education prepared guidelines for utilizing the regulation.
Thus, it is expected that more business entities, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), will get involved in programs of vocational education transformation and support industries in maintaining their competitiveness in order to grow and develop.
