"This achievement has strengthened the evidence base for FMIPA UI's performance, especially in connection with the Key Performance Indicator (IKU) Number 8," the faculty's dean, Dede Djuhana, said.
The IKU Number 8 is related to the number of study programs which have gained international accreditations, he said in a press statement that ANTARA quoted here Sunday.
The achievement could be gained thanks to the relatively solid foundation of FMIPA UI's Department of Chemistry in such areas as qualified human resources, management, and facilities, he said.
Productive publication of scientific papers in reputable international journals had also contributed to the department of chemistry's success in gaining international accreditation, he said.
All elements within the FMIPA UI's Department of Chemistry could have quickly responded to various policy changes. As a result, it is able to adapt to new regulations on the international accreditations.
Dede Djuhana said all FMIPA UI's study programs which have received international accreditations can be strengthened by expanding networks with international partners.
Prior to this achievement, the FMIPA UI's Department of Chemistry has also received an international accreditation for its undergraduate program, he added.
