"We will provide 200 doses per location," Head of the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Immunization Department of the Jakarta Health Service Ngabila Salama stated in Jakarta on Tuesday.
To access the fourth dose of vaccination, Salama noted that people only need to bring along their identity card for registration.
The health service provides around 300 vaccination locations every Monday to Sunday and also in the afternoon and evening from 16:00 to 20:00 local time on Monday-Friday at 44 sub-district community health center (puskesmas).
The 300 vaccination locations are spread across puskesmas and can be checked through the Jakarta Health Service's Instagram social media account: @dinkesdki.
Apart from vaccination for the general public, the Jakarta Health Service also provides a fourth dose vaccination for State Civil Apparatus (ASN) and the general public aged 18 years and over from Tuesday, January 24 to January 27, 2023.
The vaccination will be held from 13:00 to 15:00 local time using Pfizer and Zifivax vaccines at the Jakarta City Hall, five Jakarta Mayor offices, and Seribu Islands Administrative District Office in the Mitra Praja Tanjung Priok building.
The first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine can be given to residents aged 12 years and above and the third and fourth doses can be administered to people aged 18 and over, Salama stated.
As for the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine, the gap between dose two and dose three must be at least three months while the interval between doses three and four is at least six months, without having to wait for tickets on the PeduliLindungi application.
"The period between any dose of vaccine from being cured of COVID-19 is at least one month and the period between any dose of vaccine from the other vaccine is at least 14 days," he stated.
The Jakarta Health Service noted that as many as 85 percent of those succumbing to COVID-19 in Jakarta had the last vaccine gap of more than six months or an average of six to 12 months.
Booster vaccination can double antibody levels in the body to kill the virus, she stated.
"It is declared endemic if cases are high, but there is no increase in deaths and hospitalizations (BOR). Immunity is the key to control COVID-19. The level of immunity in the community must be maintained at a good level," she stated.
