"One of the efforts to develop BUMDes is Human Resource, so we will continue to monitor our HR capacity," director general of economic development and investment in villages, disadvantaged regions, and transmigration at the ministry Harlina Sulistyorini said on the sidelines of a series of events held to mark National BUMDes Day at Teluk Bakau, Bintan, Riau Islands, on Thursday.
She acknowledged that currently, BUMDes and joint BUMDes in Java region are more developed than those outside Java.
"It is undeniable that Java region is more developed and advanced. Again, this is related to the HR capacity at BUMDes," she added.
From a regulatory perspective, the government has issued Government Regulation Number 11 of 2021 concerning Village-Owned Enterprises to strengthen BUMDes' position.
BUMDes, as legal entities, can now directly run their businesses and will no longer have difficulty accessing capital, Sulistyorini said.
"There are derivative regulations to the technical implementation guidelines for submission of financial reporting to strengthen BUMDes," she noted.
However, BUMDes' synergy with various agencies and companies is also important to encourage them to develop, she pointed out. In addition, such synergy will have a positive impact on village residents.
She informed that in 2022, the number of BUMDes with an advanced classification reached 1,208 units. This figure exceeded the target of 1,150 BUMDes, which was outlined in the 2022 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN). Meanwhile, the number of BUMDes grew to 7,662, also exceeding the target of 7,500.
Similar results were also achieved with regard to joint BUMDes. In 2022, the number of joint BUMDes with advanced classification reached 373 units, higher than the target of 155 units. Meanwhile, the number of joint BUMDes increased to 331 units, higher than the target of 245 units.
"Praise to God, we were able to achieve the target set in the 2022 RPJMN," she said.
