"The revitalization of vocational education and training in Indonesia has run and developed well in accordance with the direction of President Joko Widodo," the minister noted in a statement here on Monday.
Effendy explained that the government had issued Governmental Regulation Number 68 of 2022 on the Revitalization of Vocational Education and Training to support the development of competent and productive human resources.
"In accordance with the mandate in Government Regulation Number 68 of 2022, all parties and stakeholders continue to collaborate in order to prepare a quality generation as capital for realizing an advanced Indonesia," he affirmed.
Effendy also lauded industries that have collaborated with educational institutions to hone the abilities and skills of students.
"The role of partnership between the world of industry and the world of education is getting more evident across Indonesia through training programs to improve abilities and skills," he pointed out.
The minister is upbeat that through training, internship, and other programs, students would be able to gain broad work experience that is in tune with the actual conditions in industries.
"Thus, when the students actually enter the world of work, it will not take a long time for them to adapt," he stated.
Effendy further noted that his ministry encourages industries and educational institutions to collaborate more intensively to revitalize vocational education and training in the country.
According to the minister, vocational education and training currently continue to be focused on making the most of the demographic dividend to support skill- and training-based development of human resources.
"We hope in the upcoming years, the strengthening of vocational education and training would continue to be carried out to prepare children in the productive age," he remarked.
