One of the aspects that we will collaborate with related stakeholders on is the security planJakarta (ANTARA) - The Transportation Ministry is increasing collaboration with ministries, agencies, and local governments to maintain security at pioneer transport airports to prevent incidents such as the recent burning of an airplane in Paro sub-district, Nduga district, Papua.
"Security issues are an important part of pioneering services. One of the aspects that we will collaborate with related stakeholders on is the security plan," director of air transportation at the ministry Putu Eka Cahyadi said during a media talk at the Ministry of Transportation’s Office, Jakarta, on Thursday.
Cahyadi acknowledged that security issues in the pioneering aircraft areas in underdeveloped, outermost, and border areas (3T) are among the challenges to the ministry's efforts to develop connectivity for the community.
However, he emphasized that his party is continuously communicating with related parties to mitigate security plans.
“Security is a comprehensive aspect. Not only the airport but the vicinity. We must manage access to the airport as well," he added.
He said that pioneer air transport exists to connect remote and underdeveloped areas that are difficult to access, with long travel times via land transportation of more than eight hours and limited availability of transportation modes and non-continuous schedules.
Pioneer air transport aims to support equitable development and reduction in price disparities. Local governments are also expected to raise public awareness regarding pioneering passenger and cargo aviation activities, he added.
Cahyadi informed that in 2022, a total of 295,845 passengers were transported using pioneer aircraft, with flight frequency reaching 39,750 on 228 passenger flight routes.
In 2023, there will be a decrease in the number of routes to 220 due to a decline in the List of Entries of Budget Execution (DIPA) from Rp550 billion in 2022 to Rp500 billion. The decline will also be seen in the number of pioneer cargo aircraft routes from 42 in 2022 to 41 in 2023, he said.
"Pioneer flights are served by 21 regional coordinators with 220 pioneer passenger flight routes and 41 cargo routes," he said.
