According to Pandjaitan, Indonesia and South Korea are mutually beneficial business partners that complement each other.
"Indonesia's abundant natural wealth and large market share for electric vehicles are the future for the development of the EV industry and its supporting ecosystem," he said in an Instagram post on his personal account @luhut.pandjaitan.
He added that the investment of South Korean companies in building the entire EV production chain in Indonesia would be a promising business opportunity in the future.
In addition to discussing investments related to EV production, they also talked about the possibility of implementing a Visa on Arrival policy for Indonesian citizens, similar to what Indonesia had obtained from Japan, to ease travel for tourists.
Pandjaitan will be in South Korea for the next few days to attend a high-level meeting to commemorate five decades of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
He expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to attract more investment from South Korea.
"I am enthusiastic because I have to make the most of this important opportunity to get more investment from South Korea," he added.
Pandjaitan also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Choo Kyung-Ho and the South Korean government, which are committed to ensuring that Korean investment in Indonesia goes according to schedule.
"Hopefully, with the blessings of the month of Ramadan, the first high-level meeting between Indonesia and South Korea will produce significant results for both countries," he stated.
