Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned toll road operator PT Jasa Marga has said that it is ready to provide optimal services during this year’s Eid al-Fitr exodus and return flow.

"Handling the homecoming and return flow on Eid al-Fitr this year will be more challenging," Jasa Marga president director Subakti Syukur said here on Friday.

Jasa Marga on Friday unveiled its task force alert team for Eid Al-Fitr 2023 or 1444 Hijri at Purna Bhakti Museum field, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Jakarta.

Jasa Marga is looking to take anticipatory steps and prepare more ready operational service strategies to realize an impressive and safe homecoming, as mandated by the government, Syukur informed.

He said that a significant increase has been predicted in the exodus departure as well as return traffic flow this year.

This is considering that the situation has gradually returned to normal after the COVID-19 pandemic, and there are no more restrictions on public movement.

He said there are a number of aspects that must the Jasa Marga task force must focus on, such as ensuring the readiness of services at toll gates and rest areas as well as along the toll road lanes.

Then, the task force must fulfill all elements of the minimum service standard (SPM), for instance, by limiting construction activities on toll roads that could affect traffic conditions, controlling congestion, ensuring cleanliness, and providing facilities in rest areas, he added.

Moreover, the task force has been encouraged to optimize the use of digital technology in monitoring and processing the latest traffic condition data.

Jasa Marga has prepared communication and information management strategies for toll road users, especially for delivering travel advisories and guidelines.

Information related to traffic conditions and schemes on toll roads is being updated on Jasa Marga's official channels: call center number 14080, Twitter handle @PTJASAMARGA, the Travoy app, and other social media handles, as well as mass media.
