We monitor this for 24 hours, including during Eid al-Fitr.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Communication and Informatics Ministry conducts a drive test, or network test, to optimize public communication services throughout Ramadhan 1444 H.

Head of the Telecommunication Monitoring Center Team at the Ministry Indra Apriadi stated that the drive test is held for two to three weeks at crowded spots.

"We will see the result, and we will deliver it to telecommunication service operators, so that optimization can be conducted if there is a bad signal or even a blank spot," he remarked here, Friday.

Moreover, the manually conducted drive test is supported by the advancement of signal monitoring technology currently owned by the ministry, Apriadi said.

This technology is able to record report data of signal location spots that are monitored to be poor.

If a communication service with speed below 1 Mbps is found, then notification will automatically be delivered to telecommunication service operators to fix the service quality.

"We monitor this for 24 hours, including during Eid al-Fitr," he remarked.

Apriadi said that similar action will also be taken during the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, so that social gathering with families will proceed without any hindrance.

In addition to optimizing communication services, the ministry earlier ensured to prevent the spread of hoax during Ramadhan 1444 H.

The spread of hoax is prevented through three mechanisms: Automatic Identification System (AIS), 24 hours cyber patrol, and addressing complaints received from the public.

AIS is a technology that utilizes artificial intelligence to ensnare disinformation spread in the digital space, including hoaxes.

Meanwhile, 24 hours cyber patrol is conducted, with the goal of removing negative content, including hoaxes, which can harm the people.

Lastly, the ministry receives the people's complaints from various information channels, such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Twitter.
