We have high hopes (that private parties) can cooperate with the ministry to guide and create micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and young entrepreneurs in IndonesiaJakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Youth and Sports invited private parties to collaborate in guiding and creating entrepreneurs among the youth in Indonesia.
"We have high hopes (that private parties) can cooperate with the ministry to guide and create micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and young entrepreneurs in Indonesia," Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo noted in a media meeting event here on Thursday.
Ariotedjo believes it aligns with the special directive from President Joko Widodo, who urged the Ministry of Youth and Sports to not only focus on sports but also on making various efforts to develop the potential of youth in Indonesia.
Ariotedjo is optimistic that his ministry and private parties would start to follow up on efforts for the development of MSMEs next week.
He noted that his ministry will provide space for youngsters with aspirations of developing a business but are facing problems in terms of access.
"Because, sometimes, when we want to develop a brand or product, we get dizzy because we have to go to the National Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM), the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Trade, customs, and others," he pointed out.
"Therefore, later, we will provide a one-door service for assistance there. That is what we offer to collaborate on," he affirmed.
The minister is upbeat that the step can become an effort to improve the youth development index next year.
In addition, he is optimistic that the existing local brands would be supported to develop so that they can level up and enter the global market.
"However, actually, before going international, our national market is already large. There are 270 million people, so we have to make the most of it too," he remarked.
