We discussed to make the World Beach Games runs properly according to the Constitution because Bali has been assigned to host the championship
Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) - Bali Governor Wayan Koster echoed his support for the 2023 World Beach Games organized by the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) to be held in Bali.

However, Koster agreed on the implementation of the 2023 World Beach Games as long as the event was held in line with the Constitution.

"We discussed to make the World Beach Games runs properly according to the Constitution because Bali has been assigned to host the championship," he remarked during his meeting with Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo, in Denpasar, Bali, Friday.

To this end, he expressed full support and vouched to provide locations for the World Beach Games.

While desisting from speaking about the recent rejection of the Israel National Team, Koster only emphasized that the World Beach Games must be held in accordance with the constitutional mandate.

The form of support shown by the governor is apparent from his successful efforts to mediate permission to use the location for a beach soccer game in Nusa Dua, Badung, while the process of obtaining permits for other locations is underway.

"In future, after Eid al-Fitr, the preparations will be further strengthened because we had conducted surveys at all locations," he explained.

He remarked that international activities, such as the World Beach Games, are beneficial to bring more tourists to Bali. However, no international activities will not have much effect on Bali's tourism.

Reflecting on the cancellation of the U-20 World Cup, Koster said that there was no major impact on tourism in Bali, as foreign tourists kept visiting the island.

"When it comes to tourists, we do not expect too much from activities like this. The most important aspect is we still have a lot of tourists visiting Bali. From our observation during Ramadan, there are 13 thousand to 14 thousand foreign tourists visiting Bali per day and six thousand to eight thousand domestic tourists," he stated.
