In addition to homecoming monitoring, Ombudsman will also supervise basic services, specifically hospital and police.Padang, West Sumatera (ANTARA) - The West Sumatra Representative of Indonesia Ombudsman (ORI) will continue to monitor public services considered to be vital and important throughout the 2023 Eid leave/holiday period.
"In addition to homecoming monitoring, Ombudsman will also supervise basic services, specifically hospital and police," West Sumatra Ombudsman head Yefri Heriani said here on Saturday.
According to Heriani, the services need to be continuously monitored given that hospitals and police stations have become vital objects that the people need at all times.
The Ombudsman monitoring is being undertaken to ensure that basic services to the public in 19 districts and cities in the province can still proceed despite the 2023 Eid holiday, she said.
"Ombudsman seeks to ensure and carry out monitoring so that basic services, such as hospitals, are not disrupted due to the 2023 Eid leave period," she said.
In fact, basic services to the public cannot decline, such as due to workers' lateness, as a result of Eid leave.
To ensure that public services continue to operate, the Ombudsman has called for the active involvement of the public in monitoring the performance of government apparatuses, she said.
The request has been made due to human resource limitations experienced by the West Sumatra Ombudsman in monitoring the 19 districts and cities, she noted.
One of the ways to handle this is to ensure that the people have the right to carry out monitoring of public services operation and report it to the Ombudsman, she said.
Meanwhile, West Nusa Tenggara Representative of Ombudsman monitored the homecoming flow service at a number of transportation facilities ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
"Homecoming service monitoring is being undertaken in the entire Indonesian provinces, including in West Nusa Tenggara," West Nusa Tenggara Ombudsman official Arya Wiguna said in a statement issued on Thursday.
